Did you know that in 2013, when Instagram came out with the video feature, 5 million videos were uploaded in 24 hours? This social media platform is incredibly popular for both photos and videos, especially since they give you a glimpse into other people's lives.
Sometimes you see Instagram videos that are so beautiful that you want to keep them forever. If so, how do they download? Read on to find out!
Save Them In Collections
Using the Collections feature is one of the simplest methods to save an Instagram video!
When you're watching the video, check the right side, just below the video. There is a little banner icon, which will save the video when you tap on it.
To access the saved video, go to your profile and click on “Saved” (it also has the same icon as the banner on the left). This should provide you with a list of the videos you've amassed!
Note that while this saves IG videos and gives you easy access, it doesn't actually save them. So if they are ever deleted, you will not be able to see them. Also, you can't repost to your IG feed from here.
How to Save Your Videos
If you have recorded something on your profile or story and you like it so much that you want to save it, downloading it to your phone is very easy!
When you finish making the video, look up. In the middle, there should be an arrow pointing down on a horizontal line. Press it and it will download the video. You can then post it to your profile or story.
You can also save your videos after you've published them. To get started, go to your Story and click on the three vertical lines. Tap "Save Video" and you'll start downloading!
How To Save Other People's Videos
The downside of IG is that you can't directly download other people's videos. But, thankfully, there are a few workarounds!
Record Instagram Videos Manually
If you have an iPhone, open Control Center. Tap the record button, then "start recording." Once launched, you can open IG and play the video.
When you're done, open Control Center again and hit the record button to stop recording.
As for Android owners, there is no direct way to record your screen. However, you may get apps through the Google Play Store.
Use Recording Apps
This is for Android users! You can download Instagram videos using specific apps that serve this purpose.
Just be careful; make sure they are legitimate apps and not malware!
